Far more often, the path led to the goldsmith to have a new piece of jewelry made there according to their own ideas and in exchange with the craftsman. A typical procedure we can observe again and again: Instead of creating the new pieces completely from scratch, often already existing gemstones and sometimes even entire pieces of jewelry or parts of them were included in the design.
