Stories to Remember
E

very day we discover something new and every day previously unseen treasures reach us. Each piece is unique. And yet, every now and then, there are some objects among them that we remember particularly fondly. It is not necessarily the most precious piece of jewellery that remains in our memory: It is above all that one which tell a special story.

The micromosaic from Rome, created around 1860, shows St Peter’s Square. The gas lanterns, which the artist captured with meticulousness, help to date the piece. And they also show with how much joy modern technology was welcomed in the Eternal City.

We have collected some of these stories here, even though we have long since been able to pass the pieces on to their next owners. They tell of the love of the Berliners of the imperial era for ancient Egypt and the longing for peace in the troubled years between the wars. We introduce you to a goldsmith whose works come up with a surprise. You will find a berry brooch that has written jewellery history. And we present a ring from the time of the troubadours that is so rare and astonishing that we always like to remember it.

If you are captivated by one or the other story and, contrary to expectations, you could not find something similar in our current range, please feel free to contact us! We are always on the lookout for new objects and may soon find something you like!
